“Grace and Peace to you this Sabbath day in the name of Our Lord, Jesus Christ! We welcome you to this time of worship, where we come to celebrate God’s saving grace in and through the death and resurrection of Christ. May your heart and mind be filled anew with God’s presence! Welcome!"
Thought For The Day
God Won’t Ask? But?
God won’t ask what kind of car you drove, but He’ll ask how many people you drove who didn’t have transportation.
God won’t ask the square footage of your house, but He’ll ask how many people you welcomed into your home.
God won’t ask about the clothes you had in your closet, but He’ll ask how many others you clothed.
God won’t ask about your social class, but He’ll ask what kind of class you displayed.
God won’t ask how many material possessions you had, but He’ll ask if they dictated your life.
God won’t ask what your highest salary was, but He’ll ask if you compromised your principles to obtain it.
God won’t ask how much money you spent on yourself, but He’ll ask how much you gave back to Him.
God won’t ask how much overtime you worked, but He’ll ask if your overtime was for yourself or for your family.
God won’t ask how many promotions you received, but He’ll ask how you promoted others.
God won’t ask what your job title was, but He’ll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability.
God won’t ask what you did to help yourself, but He’ll ask what you did to help others.
God won’t ask how many friends you had, but He’ll ask to how many people you were a friend.
God won’t ask what you did to protect your rights, but He’ll ask what you did to protect the rights of others.
God won’t ask in what neighborhood you lived, but He’ll ask how you treated your neighbors.
God won’t ask about the color of your skin, but He’ll ask about the content of your character.
God won’t ask how many times your deeds matched your words, but He’ll ask how many times they didn’t.
God won’t ask if His Son loved you, but He’ll ask if you loved His Son.

24th—"Y" 25th-"Z".
Please remember that if you don't wish to publicly express your prayer concerns,
you may use the PRAYER PILLAR in the back of the church for your requests.
Prayer List Update
As a means of keeping out prayer list "current", you are invited
to consider the following: Prayer request names may be added and/or
removed by members of the congregation at any time beginning on
October 3rd. Simply write a note, or make a call (334-3032)
to the church office with this information. On the first Sunday
of each month, the prayer list will be reconstituted.
If, for example, you desire to list a new name or lift up, a new,
person who was recently on the prayer list, please submit the name(s)
on the last Sunday of the preceding month, so these names can
appear on the first Sunday of the month. Otherwise, the name(s)
will be removed. Prayer requests may be placed on the small prayer
request form, which is located neat the pillar of prayer
(unspoken requests placed in the back of the sanctuary),
or any other card/piece of paper. Thank you!

Ministries of Worship, Education, and Outreach
"Acts" Up Close ... Invites You!
If your Thursday morning (10:00 a.m.) has a little quiet time in it, you are invited to come and fill it with the power and presence of God’s word, as revealed in the Book of Acts. Last Thursday, our group (10 persons) got going again, and it was truly a “great time” in the Lord’s name. In addition to our “Genesis to Revelation” study book, this study on Acts utilizes a dramatic video portrayal of each chapter, where the verse becomes the script.—Please come and join in the discussion.
"Walking on Water" ... Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.
Some say that “to walk on water, you have to know where the rocks are!” John Ortberg, our celebrated Thursday night author, suggests that “you need to get out of the boat,” as Peter did. (Matthew 14). In either case, the response involves faith, amidst the tension of fear.—If God is inviting you to “Walk on water” at this moment in your life, we want to invited you to join out Thursday evening group (25 in attendance last week). We believe that God is in our midst, revealing the “faith tools/resources” for water walking. Please join us!
Gift Wrap ... Youth Fund Raiser
It's the best gift-wrap in town! Yes, its true! The Gettysburg Church
Youth Fellowship will once again participate in the Central PA
Conference Innisbrook "Gift Wrap" Sale. As you may recall,
each fall United Methodist Youth Fellowships are given the opportunity
to sell a "gift wrap" buffet of things (paper, bows, ribbon,
gift bags, cards, etc.). This year is no exception. In fact,
you can currently find samples, as well as ordering information/forms,
in the hallway near the ground floor coat racks. Take time to
place your order! It's a great product at a good value.
And besides, 50% goes directly to the youth fellowship group
with an additional amount going to the conference youth ministry.

Donated Food Needed
When you do your grocery shopping, why not buy two of a particular
item, (ie. Pasta, can of soups, cereal, etc). Bring these items
to church and donate them to the Food Pantry Box in the church
library. Carty and Bob Bates deliver our donation to the local Food
Pantry which helps people in our community have who have special needs.
Your support of this project would be greatly appreciated.
