Opportunities for Ministry

Reception of New members will be June 13, 2004. Anyone wishing to join the
church should contact Pastor Joyce, Peggy Hunt or the church office by June 7th.

On Thursday, June 3rd beginning at 9:00am, Life Screening will be here to provide health screenings. On that day, you can find out if you are at risk for a stroke by having a carotid artery screening. There will also be an ultrasound test available that looks for aneurysms on the aorta vessel in the abdomen and a screening that checks the arteries in the legs for poor circulation as well as an osteoporosis bone density test. A pulmonary lung function screening is available as well. The tests are priced individually or for twenty-five dollars each if you get the 5-test package. This is a health prevention program, and with early detection, these problems can be treated. The results are given directly to you and you are referred back to your own doctor. Call 1-800-446-0925 to register for an appointment or more information. Space is limited to first 50 people.

MISSION CENTRAL INVITES YOU
TO BE THE HANDS OF GOD
 IN MISSION SERVICE AT
ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2004!

The 13 conferences in the Northeast Jurisdiction will again be collecting
UMCOR kits at each of their Annual Conferences. We are praying that over
50,000 kits will be processed through Mission Central as a result of this
effort. The Central PA Conference will be focusing on the collection of
Health and School Kits for our 2004 Annual Conference, June 10 - June 12.
Please place the completed kits or supplies for kits in the Hallway Box
marked Mission Central. The supplies needed are listed on the Mission Board.

ATTENTION KENNIE'S SHOPPERS!
If you are a frequent shopper at any Kennie's
Market location and you'd be willing to designate Big Brothers Big Sisters
of Adams County for the Community Treasures program, please contact Laura
Geesaman at 334-1138 or landt@pa.net

If you have borrowed items (books, videos, Mike) from Pastor Joyce,
please return them to her by June 1st. Thank you.

Pastor Joyce.

SUMMER SPECIAL MUSIC: A sheet to sign-up for special music during July and
August is on a music stand in the hallway by the choir room. You have only
eleven services in which to glorify God with your gifts. Solos, duets or
small groups of singers, dancers or instrumentalists are welcome.
Please have music to Kelly no later than two weeks before the service in which you are performing.

PEACE CAMP 2004 - will be held June 21 - 25 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am at the
Gettysburg Area Middle School (Cafeteria). All children ages 5 - 12 are
welcome. Cost for the camp is a nominal fee of $5 per family.
Registration forms are on the hallway bulletin board.

Regular and large print Bibles are available at the back of the church for your use.
We invite you to use one to follow along in the reading of today's scripture.

PEW ENVELOPES! You may have noticed the pew envelopes and on top of the mission can. These envelopes are to be used for donations to the church that are not covered by your regular envelopes. Some examples are mission can donations, special collections, special service offerings, etc. If the envelopes are used, we will be able to add that record to your giving statement. Please be sure to put your envelope number and/or name on the envelope so we know to which account it should be recorded. If you have any questions, please see Fred Myers or Connie Thompson.

Tape Ministry - Our members in nursing homes and those unable to get to church and now able to hear our Sunday services and feel a part of the church congregation. If you know of a shut-in and would like to take a tape to them, please call Ed and Charlotte Moore @ 334-1716. We owe David Schmidt a debt of gratitude for helping us in recording these tapes.

REMINDER: Please remember to call or e-mail the office by Tuesday prior to the Sunday you are sponsoring bulletins or altar flowers. Phone or mail reminders are no longer being issued - that information is now part of the newsletter. All announcements to be placed in the Weekly Vision must also be in the office by Tuesday. Thank you.
