Mission Can
April's Mission Can is designated for the Homeless Shelter in conjunction with
Mission Day.

MISSION MINUTE: Mission Day has been set for April
25, 2004 following the
church service. We are planning a luncheon with a magician and face
painting for the children. A representative from the Adams County Homeless
Shelter will be available to answer questions and provide information about
the shelter. We will update you as plans develop. |

Church Women United May Friendship Day will be held her on Friday, May
7th with lunch at noon and program at 1:00 pm. Cost of lunch is $4.00.
Reservations are due by May 3rd and should be made to Genny Reaver. All women
are invited. |

On Thursday, June 3rd, our church will be hosting Prevention Health
Screenings again this year to offer 5 important life saving tests. On that
day, they will offer you a stroke/carotid artery screening to assess your risk
of a stroke. There will be two other vascular tests available, an osteoporosis
test and a screening for respirator related diseases. There is a minimal cost
for the tests ranging from $25 - $40. The results are sent directly to you and
you are referred back to your own doctor. Call 1-800-446-0925 for more
information. Space is limited so register early. |

Are you tired of telemarketing calls and don't have
internet access? Call the office and have them put you on the national and state
"do not call" lists. All that is needed is your permission and telephone number
and you should see telephone telemarketing drop within one month. |

PEW ENVELOPES!
You may have noticed the pew envelopes and on top of the mission can. These
envelopes are to be used for donations to the church that are not covered by
your regular envelopes. Some examples are mission can donations, special
collections, special service offerings, etc. If the envelopes are used, we will
be able to add that record to your giving statement. Please be sure to put your
envelope number and/or name on the envelope so we know to which account it
should be recorded. If you have any questions, please see Fred Myers or
Connie Thompson. |

PEACE CAMP 2004 - will be held
June 21 - 25 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am at the
Gettysburg Area Middle School (Cafeteria). All children ages 5 - 12 are
welcome. Cost for the camp is a nominal fee of $5 per family.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL registration has been extended
to the end of April. Please see Lauren for registration forms. There are plenty
of teachers this year who have volunteered so please be sure to register your
children, your sister's children, your brother's children and your neighbors'
children and any other children you can find. REGISTER SOON! |

Regular and large print Bibles are available at the
back of the church for your use.
We invite you to use one to follow along in the reading of today's scripture. |

Tape Ministry - Our members in nursing homes and
those unable to get to church and now able to hear our Sunday services and feel
a part of the church congregation. If you know of a shut-in and would like to
take a tape to them, please call Ed and Charlotte Moore @ 334-1716. We owe David
Schmidt a debt of gratitude for helping us in recording these tapes. |
