 WELCOME
to the Gettysburg United Methodist Church!

WELCOME in the name of the Lord! We thank God for your presence among us and during this Lenten season, we praise God for his righteous Son, who perfectly kept all of God's commandments for us and paid the full price of our disobedience. May our hearts be filled with Christ's spirit of obedience as we give Him all the praise and glory for our lives.

Opportunities for Ministry

An USHER TEAM is needed for December. If you are interested in serving on
an Usher Team, please contact Peggy Hunt at 337-0539. Thank you!

LAST CALL! Today is the last day for requesting a "Thinking of You" box.
The Crafty Ladies will be assembling and mailing these goody boxes to our
church members who are currently away from home. If you have a family
member who is away at college or serving in the military, and you would like
a box sent, please see Beth Hoffman, Millie Ryder or Rochelle Lutz after the service.

The Trustees and Admin Board have approved a proposal to create a permanent Endowment Fund Committee in accordance with 2533 of the Discipline to receive, administer, and invest bequests, trusts, and trust funds in such cases where the donor has designated the endowment committee or church to receive, administer, or invest the same. To carry out this proposal we're seeking 3-5 volunteers to serve as committee members. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone with interest in developing a stewardship program for our church. The committee would meet approximately four to six times a year to administer those bequeaths already given to the church and to develop a gift giving program for the future geared to meet the needs of the church and it's members. Those interested please contact Larry Speer.

The spring 2004 CROP WALK is scheduled for April 18, 2004 at 2 pm with
registration at 1:15 pm. This year's focus is 'Women and Children" and a
goal of $8,000 has been set for fundraising. Try to support this worthy
cause if you have time that day. Keep an eye out for additional information
in future bulletins. If you have any questions, please see David Williams.

Jacquie Temple, Tammy Lytle, Missy Lyon, Rebecca Krishan, Maxine Ball, Michael Ball, Simone Bergeron and the Geesaman children are all bowling in Bowl for Kids' Sake and looking for sponsors.  This even, on March 21st, benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Adams County and donations would be greatly appreciated. The money raised is matched by a local charity so every dollar counts! Contact any bowler if you are willing to be a sponsor.

Thank you to everyone for your prayers, cards and visits.
I'm back in school and I've been blessed by the power of prayer.

Steve Spatz

Regular and large print Bibles are available at the back of the church for your use.
We invite you to use one to follow along in the reading of today's scripture.

Tape Ministry - Our members in nursing homes and those unable to get to church and now able to hear our Sunday services and feel a part of the church congregation. If you know of a shut-in and would like to take a tape to them, please call Ed and Charlotte Moore @ 334-1716. We owe David Schmidt a debt of gratitude for helping us in recording these tapes.

REMINDER: Please remember to call or e-mail the office by Tuesday prior to the Sunday you are sponsoring bulletins or altar flowers. Phone or mail reminders are no longer being issued - that information is now part of the newsletter. All announcements to be placed in the Weekly Vision must also be in the office by Tuesday. Thank you.
