Gettysburg United Methodist Church

Celebrating 200+ Years of Methodism in Gettysburg!

A new school year has grown to more than 200 backpack meals encompassing both James Getty and Lincoln Elementary Schools. We will continue to collect single serve foods we have in the past. As a result, the need for food items and monetary gifts is significant.

Examples of foods (All single serve) are Cereals, Vegetables, Fruits, Granola Bars, Soups, Peanut Butter and Jellies, Macaroni & Cheese, Beef Stew, Spaghetti, etc., Shelf Stable Milk, Hot Chocolate Packets, Juice Boxes, Crackers, Puddings, Rice Krispie Treats and Tuna.

Look for the Ruth’s Harvest Bin to place your donations in our church gathering area. There will again be single serve foods drop-off at Lincoln Elementary every Monday morning from 9:00 AM till 11:00 AM.  Ed & Lynn Trewhella will be managing this. The drop-off is subject to change for Holidays, weather, etc.

We will again need volunteers who will be available to pack the backpacks.  Please contact Cindy Bittinger at (717) 359-4931 for the times.
