Dear Gettysburg United Methodist Church Members and Friends,
Grace and Peace to you in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ! May the gift of God's Love though the resurrection of Christ give you a true sense of divine blessing during this Easter season!
As you know from reading Judy's letter on behalf of your Staff-Parish Relations Committee, Rev Michael Minnix in consultation with Bishop Neil Irons and the Cabinet of the Central PA Conference will be appointing me to be your pastor, effective July 1, 2004. In this appointment, I find great pleasure, as I have already sensed that your ministry is a spirit-filled one. Your discipleship is recognized as significant within the Chambersburg District, as well as throughout the conference. Accordingly, I count it an honor to be called to such a vital ministry.
Getting to know you will be my first order of ministry. My goal will be to learn your names as well as "something" special about you. In fact, if you would be so kind as to think about that "special something" between now and July 1, I would appreciate it. -- Please relate it to me in our first meeting, as it will be very helpful! Thanks so much!
Regarding me and my family, it may be sufficient to say that Linda and I are respectively rooted in the Lancaster and Harrisburg areas. We have two daughters, Erin (15 yrs.) and Lauren (13 yrs.). As many know, each of us is involved in the world of dog showing plus several other special interested. Linda, although she has a masters in college level counseling, is currently working as child counselor for the Frances Leiter Center, which is based in Chambersburg.
Thank you for the chance to greet you today! -- I am looking forward to our mutual ministry together. Blessings on you!
In Christ's Service,
